The square shape is the container of the argument in this talk, and two compartments means seeing from different sides of angle. One on left seemly served as the one dominating angle in how to view China in Taiwan Study, while the right one depicts the scenery in China-Africa study, which has many attempts to define/argue over their true nature of this  China-Africa relationship. And the color blocks in this picture serves as maps of China, Taiwan, and Africa (not in accurate scales nor proportion).

• 摘要：

作為外文系的學徒，我不是正統的中國研究者，卻風雲際會地在幾個生命瞬間與「中國」相遇。這幾個瞬間包括了2002姚明作為第一指名進入NBA，2007年開始與中國學者交往與合作，以及2011年至今關於外文研究建制史的研究和書寫。我的分享試著從這三個瞬間展開，將「中國」研究放在全球化與兩岸關係的變化中思考，並對「世界化中國」這個命題提出一些觀察與芻議。尤其，我想特別強調「相遇」的經驗性意義，以及「世界化中國」對既有研究範式－－漢學研究、區域研究、華語語系研究、中國現代性－－可能提出的挑戰。
